This piece was all about color when I began. I found a turquoise color I absolutely loved, so I decided to build a piece around it. I seem to find it hard to get away from working with acrylic paint and a lot of water- I just love how different colors will bleed together and run down the canvas when I add water. It’s always a spectacular effect, and creating movement is one of my favorite results of this technique.
As you can see, I put my quilled paper pieces in the white areas and worked vertically, abstractly bringing to mind waterfalls, bubbles, and even moss covered rocks. I added a few splatters over the paper pieces to add a little more of the color I loved so much… :)
