I got it!  I got my postcard in the mail!  Well, not mine as in the one I did, but the one that an artist by the name of Loralei Walker sent to me, all the way from Delta in British Columbia, CA.
I was excited when I realized I was familiar with this artist- I’ve seen many of her pieces posted on google, etc, and she is so talented.  She shared her info with me, and I’m going to share the links here so all you have to do is click to check out her fabulous work.

She has some encaustic pieces that not only capture your imagination but also have won awards and recognitions.  I think my favorite is the one with the key and the heart wrapped in chains called “Lost and Found”.  It is amazing.  She used a shellac burn to add some texture, and once she described it to me I’ve been dying to try it in my encaustic paintings… yet another technique for me to experiment with.  :)
Thanks for the postcard Loralei!!  You are one talented artist!
And of course another shout out to Dawn Diamantopoulos who organized the swap.  I’m so glad I joined!
