I have been so blessed this year. So many wonderful changes have taken place, the most amazing of which was that I married the man of my dreams on the last day of June. I couldn’t imagine being happier, and reflecting on all my blessings led to the idea of keeping a blessings journal- one blessing per page per day. What a perfect way to keep track of things I am grateful for, especially when a hard day will come out of left field and hit me squarely in the face. I’m sure you will agree that this happens sometimes, and finding the good at those times is so important.
I didn’t, however, want this journal to turn into a simple list. I wanted to take this and use it as a means of experimenting with different techniques and looks. This is how I began- creating curving lines horizontally across the page, then writing and filling out the words in between those lines. I am liking the results so far… Perhaps I’ll get even more outlandish and fill in the empty spaces with some doodles.
Perhaps down the road I’ll even try painting the background or adding some decorative paper first. Maybe I’ll use puff paint and make the letters 3-D. Or I could draw my silhouette and have the words tumbling from my own mouth. The possibilities are endless!
Yeah, I’m having a lot of fun trying different things everyday. I’ll keep this project updated.
I keep thinking to myself that I need to start a blessings journal- making it an art journal too is GENIUS! You have inspired me.
