I love monochromatic paintings, and doing a black and white abstract quilling piece has been in my mind for a long time.  Of course, “The Milky Way” has bits of cream and brown in it, as well, and I do love the text in the backgrounds of the circles.

This one is pretty different from my other pieces.  It feels far simpler to me… certainly it is cleaner. But I find the difference in sizes between my rolled paper pieces to be very interesting and eye catching.

I named this after the Milky Way because it reminded me of stars and nebulas coming together to form galaxies.  My husband told me it made him think of eclipses.  What does it make you think of?
