I’ve been having a lot of fun doing paint sketches lately. Since my mixed media pieces typically take so long for me to finish because of all their different elements, it’s nice to have some different techniques I can practice.
No splashes of color this time. For some reason, the black and white seemed to be all that was needed for these pieces, though typically I love a splash of color. The splatters are still there, though. I never can seem to stop the splatters. I just love the spontaneous and somewhat chaotic look that comes with splatters of paint. :)
I’m gaining a little more confidence in my drawing ability, but it is going to take a lot more practice and a lot of patience. It’s encouraging though, that I’m becoming more comfortable facing this fear. Drawing and sketching is probably my biggest fear artistically- if I can conquer this fear, I’ll know I can conquer anything.

So what should I sketch next?
