I love to see how colors and paints will blend together. Instead of thinning my paint beforehand, I started this piece with thick paint on a wet surface, and used a spray bottle to help blend it. The rivers and cracks that formed in the paint as they flowed across the canvas are pretty awesome, I think, and I am so happy with how I was able to use my quilled pieces to highlight those parts to create the final piece.
It makes me think of magnets, while at the same time looking like lightning connecting the two masses. They are irresistibly drawn to one another… like gravity, or people, or ideas. Or perhaps they are moving apart- like two continents drifting on separate tech tonic plates, leaving scars or underwater chasms where they used to be. So many interesting possibilities, so don’t forget to let me know what you think!
The lightning connection is magnificent!
Great colors ! I like your technique too. Thanks for sharing.
