I first saw Judy’s work on Etsy, and was immediately intrigued, mostly because she seems to suffer from the same artistic schizophrenia that I do- her work is all over the spectrum, but she’s so talented that she can do that and it works. She does acrylic work, watercolors, and fiber art. I have seen her make fabulous jewelry pieces and mini canvases, and she’s also great at merchandising many of her pieces into unique pillows, bags, and phone cases. Here’s one of her fiber pieces that I just love. In fact, it is her fiber art that compelled me to buy some wool of my own and learn a bit about felting. (When I get a piece finished, you’ll be the first to see it.)
Her use of color and balance of the images and textures she includes is wonderful and always interesting.
I love how she uses canvas and felt in her jewelry- so different from many of the jewelry designers that I’ve seen. Check out more of Judy’s art in her Etsy Shop, her blog, and give her a like on her facebook page. It’s always nice to spread the love to our fellow artists!
I asked Judy to tell me what her favorite piece is- this is what she sent me. Awesome. :)
