Once again with the Emerald Green. I can’t help it! It’s such a pretty color, and is helping me be patient and wait for the trees in our neighborhood to finally blossom.
What do you think of my quilling triptych? I really like using the natural flow of the paint to dictate where I place all the other elements in each piece, and I love seeing how the paint colors blend and with each other and the canvas.
For small canvases like this (4 in. square each) I add a few dabs of paint and then smoosh the canvas onto the flat surface of a pie plate or cookie sheet to flatten, smear and blend the paint. I’ll drag each edge through the paint left on the pie plate and and then start spritzing.
I especially love the white. There are places where the white blends in with the canvas, but stops the green and tan from staining those spots. It’s pretty neat to see- it’s like the canvas has come to life and is telling the paint where it can and can’t go. I suppose that’s why I usually use white when I paint with this technique.
Adding the quilling pieces in the right places really seems to bring out the way the paint has naturally formed on each canvas.
Well, Happy Easter everyone! I hope spring is not to far from each of us! And as always, I appreciate all your comments and tips.
This is pretty awesome! You are talented in so many ways! Hope you’re doing great!
