Encaustic Supply Lists
Refer to these lists if you have chosen the ‘bring your own supplies’ option.
Encaustic Basics Class Series
- 3 Wood Boards (keep it 8×8 or smaller)
- Clear Encaustic Medium
- Colored Encaustic Medium (any colors you’d like)
- Metal Containers to hold your wax (empty tuna cans work great)
- Natural Bristle Brushes (one brush per color)
- Clay Sculpting tool set (basic one can be found at AC Moore)
- Various papers- tissue paper, rice paper, patterned paper, cardboard, etc.
- Oil paint- your choice of color/s
- Linseed Oil
- Stencils
- India Ink
I will provide-
- Griddle
- Heat Gun
Altered Journal Cover
- Hardcover journal
- White Gesso
- Gel Medium
- Brushes
- Palette knives
- Various texture tools- bubble wrap, tulle, etc.
- Texture paste, modeling paste
- India ink
- Stencils
- Stamps/stamp pads
- Cheesecloth/fabric
- Scrapbook embellishments- flowers, chipboard pieces, metal findings, beads, paper scraps, flair, washi tape, etc.
Shellac Burn Class
- Wood Board “Canvas”, 8×8 or smaller
- Clear and White Encaustic Medium
- Natural Bristle Brushes- one per color
- Metal tins to hold your wax (tuna cans work well)
- Shellac- in a spray can and in a paint can (we’ll use both)
- Long-handled lighter
- India Ink
- Alcohol Ink
- Small Ink Brush
- Paper Towels
